Being retired and on a limited income can be hard during the Holidays. I want to spoil my Grandkids and watch them enjoy their gifts while I still can!
So during the year I utilize many different apps, savings clubs and coupons so I can basically buy my grandkids their Christmas gifts with my “free money”.
If you are on a limited income or trying to save money for something special, I highly recommend starting to use these ideas now and you’ll be surprised by how much you can save by the end of the year!
Ibotta: Ibotta is an app that I use often. The whole premise is buy what you normally would at a grocery store, restaurant or even online, and you’ll get money back for certain items.
These items change every week but sometimes there are generic items, for example, bread, eggs, milk.
Just scan the UPC code and your receipt and you’ll get money into your account to either cash out or buy gift certificates.
The biggest complaint I hear about this app is that sometimes the payout is small, .25 sometimes. But let me tell you if you keep buying banana’s like you normally do and get .25 back every time…over the year it adds up!
How much I made this year: $211.66
Checkout 51: This is the same premise of Ibotta, but with different deals, and sometimes a higher payout.
How much I made this year: $35.75
Shopkick: This app is kinda fun. When you walk into certain stores you are awarded with “kicks” you can even earn kicks for scanning a product in the store, purchasing using a link card in the store, or even just swiping through some ads or videos in the app.
I like this app because you don’t need a ton of “kicks” to get a small gift certificate.
There area also tons of bonuses to get you a bunch of kicks as well.
How much I’ve earned this year: $60
Ebates: If you’re like my I love to do a lot of online shopping. With Ebates all you have to do is go to there site first, find the website and click through from them. You will earn a percentage back from your purchases.
I use Ebates when I order photos from Walgreens, when I order photo books from Shutterfly, or even ordering my grandkids clothing from Carters.
It has a ton of stores like, Target, Home Depot, Walmart and etc. Sometime just to get the cash back I even order through them but choose in store pick up!
They even have an app you can use if you do a lot of shopping on your phone.
How much I have earned this year: 195.88
So this year I have saved: 503.29! Just with a few minutes overtime I go shopping!
Don’t forget to Pin this page because I’ll keep adding new ones as I use them!
