At our lake house the Grandchildren’s wet towels, swimsuits and water shoes are always hanging over the deck railings to dry. I wanted a place to hang them so our view from the deck wasn’t blocked and the grandkids could reach and hang them up themselves.
I decided to make a towel rack to hang under the upper deck and so the grandkids to reach it easily.
Originally I was going to paint a scrap board but I found an old paddle by a beach fire pit. I thought this would be so cute and it would fit right in with the lake house!
Unfortunately it wasn’t long enough, but my husband said he had two paddles in the boat and I could have one because why would you need 2 paddles when there are three motors and a cell phone!
While I was at Hobby Lobby, I found some clearance knobs and hooks. They were even a fun color to appeal to the kids!
I drilled the holes for the hardware and added hangers on the back, and hung it on the the side of the house!
It’s functional and a fun piece of art!
